In 1964, Citromax acquired more than 12,000 acres of lemon groves in the foothills of Tucumán, Argentina. The site was chosen for its incomparable microclimate which accounts for its well established reputation as the world’s premier producer of lemons and lemon by products. Tucumán’s abundant vegetation has led to its being called “Jardín de la República” (Garden of the Republic).
Citromax is continually expanding this rich resource, diligent in identifying the fields that are suitable for organic plantation. Citromax’s strong dedication to its lemon orchards and the environment in Tucumán is evident the methods used in planting, harvesting and processing end products as well as in the technological innovations that Citromax has forged.
