Diversity and inclusion: Our commitment to women
Companies have made an effort to provide more opportunities for women, the LGBTQI+ community, people with disabilities, and those from vulnerable populations, among others. In recent years, Citromax has intensified efforts to build a more inclusive work culture, promoting the development of an empathetic and resilient outlook in work teams. In this way, we build respectful and lasting ties that allow us to generate a climate of trust, integrity and respect from an open dialogue.
Since 2005, we have been a company certified by Women’s Business Enterprise (WBENC), and more and more women are entering and ascending to hierarchical positions within the company. Thus, we aspire to continue growing and contribute to a positive transformation.
Aligned with the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) proposed by the UN, we contribute, among others, to SDG#5 in achieving equal opportunities between genders, and empowering women and girls.
Citromax, in the last ten years, has made a gradual increase in the number of women in its staff, going from 6.41% in 2010, to 18.83% of female personnel in the payroll in 2022. This reveals a commitment that goes beyond the discursive, being real and quantifiable while also providing an equitable work environment, which allows a solid professional development with more and better opportunities within the company.
This March 8th, the motto proposed by UN Women and the United Nations is “For an inclusive digital world: Innovation and technology for gender equality“, calling for the elimination of barriers to access the digital world; educate and train women and girls in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM); enable women to create technology that meets their needs, and eliminate gender-based violence online.
For this reason, HR rethought the traditional recognition given to its collaborators every 8M, and with the aim of facilitating access to technology, delivered 50 airpods, with a microphone and connection to any device with Bluetooth thanks to its V5.0 technology.
In turn, the Institutional Relations area donated 5 airpods to the 25 de Abril Cooperative based in Acheral, to be raffled among the women of the local community, thus contributing our bit to a more equitable, inclusive and safe digital world.
We are aware of the importance of the contributions made by women to the digital world, and of the gender gap that limits the access of many women to use the full potential that digitalization offers.
At Citromax we will continue developing strategic alliances that allow us to build a better future, not only for our collaborators, but for all the girls and women in our area of influence.
